Your data, short version.

REEM Run Club is a community run club in Mallorca. This site collects as little as possible. Here is exactly what happens.

Sign-ups (RSVP)

When you say "I'm in" for a session we store your first name with the initial of your last name, an optional Instagram handle, a bib number and a timestamp. Longer names are shortened automatically before they are saved, so we never hold a full surname. Your name and handle are shown publicly on that session's list so the group knows who is coming. We do not store your IP address, email or phone number. You can remove yourself from any list with the "Remove me" link on the same device, or by messaging us on Instagram.

Check-in

At the track you can check in on reem.run/checkin. We then store the time you checked in next to your sign-up, or create a sign-up with your first name if you came without one. Your phone keeps a small key so it can show how many REEM runs you have been to. Nothing about your location is stored.

Your REEM pass and the board

To count your runs across Wednesdays, your sign-ups and check-ins are linked to one runner profile: your name as above, an optional Instagram handle and the runs you came to. From that we work out your level, streak and badges, which you see on your REEM pass (reem.run/me). Your phone keeps a secret pass key so it can find your profile; anyone with your pass link can open it, so keep that link to yourself. If the same person shows up under two spellings, the club admin may merge the two profiles. The public board is opt-in: only if you switch on "Put me on the REEM board" do your first name, run count, level and streak appear on reem.run, and you can switch it off at any time. We also note the rainfall at the track during each run (from Open-Meteo) for the Rain Runner badge. Ask us on Instagram and we delete your profile and all runs linked to it.

Anonymous counts

To see whether the site works, we count page views, sign-ups, check-ins and share taps. Each count only records what happened, on which page and when. There is no visitor ID, no IP address and no cookie, so none of it can be linked to you.

Where the data lives

Sign-ups are stored with Supabase (hosting region: Frankfurt, EU). Data is kept for the current season and deleted on request.

Cookies and local storage

No tracking cookies. The site keeps small tokens in your browser's local storage so it can recognise your own sign-up, your REEM pass and pre-fill your name next time. Clear your browser storage to remove them.

Map

The map in the "Where" section loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap (OpenStreetMap data). Your browser requests them directly from OpenFreeMap, which sees your IP address like any image request.

Weather

The forecast next to a session comes from Open-Meteo. Your browser asks their servers for the weather at the track, so they see your IP address like with any request. We send them no personal data.

Fonts and media

Fonts, images and video are served from this site's own hosting (Vercel). No third-party font services.

Photos

Photos on this site show members who agreed to appear. If you want a photo of yourself removed, message us on Instagram and it's gone.
